Once you have set your criteria and created your actions you can test the rule by clicking the 'play' button in the same row as the rule name. This will query the Bullhorn database for a few moments and then return the examples found table:
This table shows up to ten records that the rule will be applied to. You will see the current and new field values for those fields which will be changed by the rule. This allows you to check that the changes will be applied in the way you expect.
An additional piece of information is the '# Records Affected' count in the top-right corner. This is the actual number of records that have been matched to the criteria provided within the rule. All of these records will be potentially affected by the actions if you go ahead with updating Bullhorn.
The number of records affected may not be the same as the number of records updated. If the actions listed do not change the values of the fields they are updating then no update will be performed. This can be seen in the example records grid by no changes between the Current and the New rows. This ensures that DataRules is only making necessary changes to Bullhorn.
If you're happy that the rule is running correctly then clicking the 'Apply Changes To Bullhorn' button will (after confirmation) start to update your database.
Running a DataRules rule is a system-intensive action. It is highly recommended that you run rules outside of mission-critical times for Bullhorn users.
